We were privileged to have the author of A Boy
and Some Beans (Susan Vesey) watch our recent
performance on DVD. This is what she kindly wrote:
Dear Robert and Linda
I have just had a lovely couple of hours enjoying
every minute of your pantomime production - it was brilliantly staged
and I loved so many of the little jokes - like the clever signs on the
scenery and some of the antics the chorus were getting up to as part
of the action. The costume for Fairy Liquid was inspired - I hope the
audience appreciated just how clever it was - and then to replicate it
with an identical outfit but in a different colour for the finale was
a nice touch. Indeed, all the costumes were superbly co-ordinated.
My laptop practically fell off my knee when the cow
licked the Baron's face clear of cream - I was hooting with laughter.
I really liked the Morris Men - but their inclusion makes it difficult
to continue with a scene I was working on for my current script - yep
- dancers all called Maurice were involved! The children were a
delight as well - especially the cute lift boy - and every adult gave
100%. I hope the feedback from the audiences was positive - they
certainly got their money's worth.
Everyone was excellent - you must be so very proud
of the results your guidance and leadership achieved. I am going to
have to watch it again as the phone rang twice just as you were saying
about the charity events - and so I will soon have the pleasure of
watching it through again to see that part.
Without a doubt I am going to have to kidnap your
entire cast, plus your stage, for our village panto next year - I am
green with envy at the space you have and the number of young actors.
I reckon your stage space is larger than our entire village hall.
If you select another of my scripts please, please
let me know the performance dates in good time and I will board the
dog, grab the husband, book into Sturminster Newton's finest B&B and
buy a couple of tickets. SNADS are so good, I want to be in the
audience next time!
Thank you for sending the DVD and congratulations
again.
Best regards
